We went for a drive into Castelo Branco; driving in town is so much easier now we’ve got the Ute. We discovered a much better way into the centre and then we explored another out of town shopping area (the one with Burger King) that had some quite nice shops; there was a house accessory store that had some rather interesting floor lamps, some lovely purple glasses with bubbles in (they were reduced to 1€75, so I’m definitely getting some when I have somewhere to put them) and some gorgeous patchwork quilts (double or king size) reduced to 25€ (ridiculously cheap).
In the end Brett didn’t want Burger King for lunch so we bought party food, cake and beer and invited Mark and Glen to Brett’s birthday party – we had a lovely evening and stayed outside until it got quite dark.We set the alarm for 7.00 a.m.!
